University Lecturer in Psychology
The Department of Psychology and Social Work operates at Campus Östersund. We conduct research and education in social work and the fundamental areas of psychology.
Job Responsibilities
The position of university lecturer in psychology primarily involves teaching in our courses focusing on neuropsychology, assessment methodology, research methods, and philosophy of science in the psychology program, as well as independent courses.
Courses in other programs may also be included in the job responsibilities. The tasks include teaching, course development, and administration. The lecturer position involves teaching, for example, in the form of lectures, seminars, and laboratory work, both on campus and remotely, as well as examination of courses, etc. Additionally, course planning, course development, and administrative tasks such as scheduling, course coordination, and grading reporting are also included.
Qualifications

Eligible for the position of university lecturer in psychology is someone who has obtained a Master's degree with psychology as the main subject, or has equivalent competence in the subject area the position pertains to.
The employed lecturer must, if this is lacking at the time of hiring, have completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 15 higher education credits or at least 10 weeks of full-time studies within two years from the time of employment.
In addition to the general eligibility for employment as a lecturer as stated in Mittuniversitetet's employment regulations, a psychology degree and Swedish psychologist license are required for this position.
Other Requirements
The person to be employed as a university lecturer must have demonstrated pedagogical skill through verified certificates.
The person to be employed as a university lecturer must have completed higher education pedagogical training or acquired equivalent knowledge in another way.
The position requires good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
Great importance is placed on personal qualities. We are looking for someone who is attentive and has good collaboration skills, while being structured and able to independently plan and carry out their work responsibly.
Assessment Criteria
The assessment criteria for the employment of a university lecturer include the degree of skill required for eligibility for the position. The evaluation of pedagogical skill should receive equal attention as the evaluation of other eligibility-related conditions.
Documented experience of teaching at the academic level in neuropsychology, assessment methodology, qualitative research methods, and philosophy of science is meritorious. Experience in clinical work is also meritorious.
Previous experience working with learning platforms is meritorious. Furthermore, good knowledge of English in both spoken and written forms is meritorious, as course literature often appears in English and some teaching may take place in English.
Applicants will be assessed based on pedagogical skill, work and teaching experience, as well as personal qualities.
